    Frequently Asked Questions

Curtain wall is a lightweight exterior with glass and aluminium which is not loaded and is attached to the building structure. It is meant to shield the building against weather, enhance insulation and so as to appear modern sleek and architectural.

To have the entire wall covered with curtains, you just measure the height and width of the wall, then fit a track or a rod to the ceiling on top of the entire length of the wall, and then install broad floor-to-ceiling, wide curtain which is hung slightly over the wall to give a flowing and smooth appearance.

Developing a curtain wall in Revit is a process that is not very different since you would just need to select the curtain wall option in the Architecture tab, and then draw the curtain wall like any other wall and then modify the grids, mullions and panels according to your design and layout needs in your project.

The process to sketch a curtain wall using Revit is simple enough, by selecting a type of curtain wall in the wall tool and the drawing on your plan, and adjusting the horizontal and vertical grids and adding mullions or substituting glass panels to make the required facade.

Gray walls are very well matched with white, off-white, mustard yellow, navy blue, blush pink, charcoal, black, teal, or emerald green curtains, depending on the desire of a mild contrast, a pleasant accent, or a strong and recent appearance.

A curtain wall can be designed to accept windows by introducing glass panels in the aluminium grid using mullions and transoms on each panel with glass panels serving as window in the facade system.

Revit to draw a curtain wall and enclose the window inside the curtain wall you will just need to add the grids where the window would be and then change the panel you select to a glass panel or to a predefined window or door family to create a complete opening.

A window and a curtain wall are two different with a window being a single unit installed in a hole in the wall whereas a curtain wall is a complete glass wall that covers several areas of a building or even the entire height of the building but can still have windows built into it.
